During a 3-day safety and cybersecurity assessment workshop at Bureau Veritas in Paris, the NOVIMAR team takes an in depth look into 4 hazard categories concerning safe operation of the remotely/platooning concept: navigation including control systems and human failure, joining/leaving the vessel train, natural hazards like high winds and low visibility and emergency situations such as fire and man overboard situations – just to name a few examples.

This effort results in a clear view on causes, consequences and safeguarding measures, ultimately resulting in 100+ strong recommendations which provides for an ever safer vessel train concept. The outcome is of great importance to further improve the overall design as well as adequately address issues concerning regulatory affairs
