Join the final conference of NOVIMAR on the 7th of October in Antwerp! After 4 years of extensive research and hard work, the end conference will be the place to be for those who would like to get up to speed with the end results of research on the semi-autonomous Vessel Train concept, including a retrospect on all of the intermediate results which makes this Horizon2020 project all the more interesting.
A quality line-up of international experts will address technological, economical and societal impacts of the remotely controlled inland waterways navigation concept. How does the concept fit within existing regulations? What does this next level of automation mean for additional human skill requirements? What sorts of business models are feasible and how to overcome potential impediments? Expect answers to these questions, but there’s more…
World premières
The programme is currently under construction, but be sure to save the date as you can expect multiple interesting presentations, engage in constructive discussions and witness the world premiere of the Vessel Train Handbook, including a live demo of the online repository. We will also present the complete movie of the full scale demonstration that our team shot during the trials on Haringvliet!
Organizing this conference, the NOVIMAR-team would like to involve a broad European audience: starting from the representatives of the European associations and networks, national and regional policymakers engaged in the topics of inland waterways and short sea development as well as ship owners, cargo companies and academic staff.
Pre-registion
The participation will be free of charge. We plan to host a physical meeting – a talkshow format – in the Port of Antwerp-building, supported by live stream facilities. The meeting will start with a lunch from 12.00h until 13.00h and the programme will last until 17.30h.
For practical purposes we would like to ask you to fill in the pre-registration form at www.novimar.eu/final so we can manage the audience size and be compliant with corona restrictions.
